The Law

Setting off fireworks

You can set off fireworks any day of the year betwen 7am and 11pm, except for:

Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight
New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am
You should still check with your council to find out about any local rules for setting off fireworks.

Buying fireworks

You can’t buy fireworks if you’re under 18yrs, and it’s against the law for anyone under 18yrs to even be in possession of fireworks. Firework usage is restricted to 7am - 11pm, except on certain occasions where the time is extended.

You can buy fireworks from the Firework Superstore all year round as we currently operate an all year license for the retail of fireworks. Most other retailers such as supermarkets have restricted selling periods and cannot sell all year.
