Fireworks in Paisley

Paisley is about fifteen minutes from our door. If you are in Renfrewshire, you almost certainly have less driving to do than you think — we are at 85 Bogmoor Road in Shieldhall, straight up the M8 or over the Renfrew bridge.

Worth the short drive

Collection is free, and being able to see the boxes changes what people buy. A 25-shot barrage sounds small on a screen and looks very different in your hand. Come in, tell us the size of your garden, and we will be straight with you about what fits.

Good news on control zones

Some parts of Scotland now have Firework Control Zones, where it is a criminal offence to set a firework off at all — including in your own garden. Glasgow has four this year and Edinburgh has fourteen.

Renfrewshire has none. The council runs an application process and has said that no request it has received has met the criteria, so as things stand there is no control zone covering Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone or Linwood. Councils review this annually, so it is worth a look before Bonfire Night each year: Renfrewshire Council — Firework Control Zones.

The times still apply

No control zone does not mean no rules. Across Scotland fireworks can only be set off between 6pm and 11pm, with four exceptions: 5 November until midnight, and Hogmanay, Chinese New Year and Diwali until 1am. Break that and the maximum is a £5,000 fine, six months inside, or both.

You need to be over 18 to buy anything beyond category F1, and we will ask for ID — in the shop and on the doorstep.

Open when everyone else is shut

Most shops can only sell fireworks in the few weeks around Bonfire Night, New Year, Diwali and Chinese New Year. We are licensed to sell all year, so if it is a 21st in March, a wedding in July or a homecoming in September, we are open and stocked.

Picking for a Renfrewshire garden

Most gardens around Paisley are a decent size but with houses close on either side. The safety distance on the box — 8, 15 or 25 metres — is the number that decides what you can use, and it matters more than the shot count. If the neighbours are close or there are pets about, ask about the low-noise range; it is genuinely good now.
