Forbidden Planet - 104 Shot
Forbidden Planet is three cakes built into one compound — 56 shots, then 26, then 22 — wired to a single fuse so they fire as one continuous sequence. You light it once and the display changes character twice as it works through, which is what you want from a piece this size: it does not just do the same thing 104 times.
The effects run through golden palms and brocades — the long, trailing gold that hangs in the sky and falls slowly — against coloured and strobing stars. There are crossettes, which are the shots that break into a cross and then split again into four, and dancing stars fired off strobing mines at ground level. It finishes into assorted colour over golden chrysanthemum, the classic round burst.
Two things to know before you buy. It carries a 25 metre safety distance, so this needs a field or a large garden, not a back green. And it is classified 1.3G rather than the 1.4G most garden fireworks carry — a more powerful classification, which is a fair signal of what you are getting.
Category F3. Over-18s only, ID required.
